A perfect Sydney summer evening in the magnificent gardens of Government House was the setting for the 2017 Cocktail Party.
Upon entering Government House, guests were greeted with a spectacular Christmas Tree in the drawing room - standing over four metres tall and decorated to perfection.
Hosted by The Patron of the Australia Day Council of NSW, His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret'd), Governor of NSW and Mrs Linda Hurley, network members and guests were treated to a delightful evening of live music, bubbles, canapes and good, easy conversation.
Chair of the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council, Yvonne Weldon warmly Welcomed us to Country followed by Greg Daniel AM, Australia Day Council NSW Board Member announcing some sensational program developments for Australia Day 2018 - there was even an impromptu speech by The Governor himself.
The Governor extended an invitation to guests to explore Government House and discover its history and grandeur with one of the House guides.
The energy and esteem exuded by the historical location created a magical atmosphere where introductions were made, networks expanded, tours taken and a lot of fun was had.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable evening for everyone involved.
