Harbour Cruise

2018 Australia Day Harbour Cruise

Front row seats to all the Australia Day action on Sydney Harbour on our biggest day of the year – what could be better?

Over 320 members and their guests boarded the sensational Sydney Glass Island for the Australia Day 2018 Harbour Cruise. Those who attended were blown away by the incredible program that took place right in front of them.

Ours was the perfect location within Circular Quay to watch our armed forces honour our national day with a 21-gun salute including the HMAS Canberra and the supersonic flyby of the three Hornet F18s.

We marveled at a spectacular show of maritime grace and movement with the yacht ballet ahead of venturing out onto Sydney Harbour to get amongst it all to cheer on ferries dressed to the nines in the Ferrython and watch an impressive fleet of tall ships as they raced to the finish line under the Harbour Bridge.

Overhead, a Qantas A380 conducted an awe-inspiring fly-over, followed by a parachute display from the Australian Army’s Red Berets.

All of this, plus refreshments and canapés make the Australia Day Harbour Cruise the only place to be on Australia Day.

If you are in Sydney, the only place to be on Australia Day is on and around the harbour.

The Harbour Cruise is our most informal event and easily the most fun. Guests enjoy all the excitement of the harbour program on board the sensational Sydney Glass Island, which features floor to ceiling glass panels so you don't  miss a moment. Hats, sunscreen and sunglasses are essential.

Guests are treated to refreshments and canapés as they enjoy all that the harbour has to offer:

Ferrython

Sydney's First Fleet ferries, decked out in a riot of colour, thrash it out on the harbour in one of Australia's favourite events.

Salute to Australia

The Australian Army, Royal Australian Navy and Royal Australian Air Force pay tribute to our nation with a 21-gun salute, the national anthem, a handling display and the Tug and Yacht Ballet.

Australia Day flyover

Be thrilled as the action erupts in the sky as the Red Berets, Qantas and Russian Roolettes fly over Sydney Harbour.

Harbour Parade

Revel in the parade of boats decked to the nines partying on the water and vying for the honour of “best dressed”.

Australia Day Regatta

Now in its 182nd year, this regatta sees over 100 vessels, including vintage yachts race around the harbour.
